# Emphasis

Emphasis marks words that deserve visual attention. It is separate from the current word or line changing with playback.

Automatic emphasis combines speech cues with transcript context. It is a suggestion: review names, important phrases and any word that needs a different treatment.

## Edit emphasis

Double-click transcript text to open the editor, then use **Emphasize** next to the text field for the selected word. You can change automatic choices manually.

Styles can display emphasis differently. Check the selected style's color and highlight controls, and review the actual result in Premiere.

Placeholder captions use a simple current-word highlight. Their preview deliberately ignores the styled emphasis color so it remains easy to distinguish from the animated designs.
