This policy describes the current TCaption website, extension and connected services. The operator above is responsible for account and service data. Hosting, email, processing regions and final retention periods still need confirmation before launch.

What is processed

  • Account and billing: your email, license, subscription status, payment-provider references and purchase history. Stripe handles card and payment details. The TCaption API does not collect full card numbers.
  • Devices and usage: device identifiers and labels, activation and sign-in records, job identifiers, submitted audio duration, reserved and used minutes, and billing-period dates.
  • Transcription: audio extracted from the selected Premiere sequence or range. TCaption does not upload the video frames for this feature.
  • Automatic emphasis: transcript words and context sent for emphasis analysis.
  • Support and security: information you send when requesting help, plus technical request and error information needed to operate and protect the services.

Why it is used

The service uses this data to verify accounts, take payments, provide transcription and emphasis, deliver licenses, measure allowances and answer support requests. Security checks and limited purchase history help prevent misuse, including repeated introductory-offer claims.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, the relevant bases may include performing the subscription contract, meeting legal obligations and legitimate interests in operating and securing the service. The final policy must document the bases, interests and safeguards for the chosen operation. Consent will be requested for optional processing where required.

Service providers

Audio transcription and transcript emphasis are routed through OpenRouter to the configured model providers. Stripe processes payments. Hosting and transactional-email services also process information needed to deliver their functions. These services have their own processing, security and retention arrangements.

Before launch: publish the final provider list, processing regions, transfer safeguards and relevant data-processing agreements. Do not interpret this draft as a guarantee of zero retention by model providers.

Local storage and retention

The extension stores transcripts and settings locally, scoped to your project and sequence. They can remain until you clear them. You can export a transcript before deleting it.

Extracted audio may remain in the local playback cache between sessions. When its audio engine initializes, TCaption removes eligible cache jobs older than seven days. Cleanup does not run while the extension is closed. Failed jobs are cleaned up where possible.

The cloud does not maintain a completed-job audio archive. Request handling may use temporary files, and upstream providers may retain data under their settings and policies. Account, billing, usage, email-delivery and support records have separate operational or legal retention needs.

Before launch: define periods for server logs, account and usage data, purchase-history eligibility records, support correspondence, email records and backups. Publish deletion procedures and provider retention settings. Billing-history records are not automatically erased when a license record is deleted.

Website storage

The website uses essential browser storage to maintain account sign-in. Checkout email-verification credentials are held temporarily in page memory. Payment details are entered on Stripe. Montserrat is hosted with the website, so displaying the font does not require a request to Google.

This version does not include advertising or analytics scripts. If optional tracking is added, the policy and any required consent controls must be updated first.

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability or restrictions on processing, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where consent is used. You may also complain to a competent data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Some records may need to be retained for legal duties or legitimate, documented reasons. The final contact address above will handle privacy requests and explain any applicable exceptions.

Security and international processing

TCaption uses encrypted connections and access controls for its hosted services. No system can guarantee complete security. Processing may take place outside your country through the selected providers. Applicable transfer arrangements and safeguards must be confirmed and disclosed before launch.

Changes and contact

The final policy will include an effective date. Material changes will be communicated where required. For questions, use the confirmed privacy contact above. Subscription terms are described in the Terms of service.
