Frequently asked questions

Answers about TCaption plans, transcription, editing and playback.

What does TCaption need?

Adobe Premiere Pro, a compatible TCaption release, and an internet connection for activation and cloud transcription. Check the download page for available Windows and macOS packages.

How much does it cost?

Starter includes 60 minutes monthly for $8/month. Pro includes 600 minutes for $12/month. Eligible new customers can choose either plan for $0.99 for their first month, once per account across both plans. Unlimited includes 6,000 minutes for $50/month. All prices are USD; applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Pricing details.

Is Unlimited actually unlimited?

No. It is the plan name for a 6,000-minute monthly transcription allowance. Unused minutes do not roll over, and no automatic paid overages are added.

Does my footage leave my computer?

TCaption extracts audio locally and uploads it for transcription. Video frames are not sent for this feature. Transcript text can also be sent for automatic emphasis. Read the privacy policy for provider and retention details.

Can I fix a wrong word?

Yes. Double-click transcript text to edit the caption. Press Enter to save and continue playback. You can also change emphasized words. Review timing after substantial wording changes.

Why does playback slow down after styling?

Animated templates and optional effects can be expensive to render. Pre-render the sequence in Premiere after styling, or enable the automatic sequence pre-render option. The HTML layout preview does not reproduce the whole effects stack.

Do I need to insert placeholders again after changing grouping?

No. Applying the style again rebuilds the styled captions directly.

Can I cancel?

Use Manage billing in your account to cancel future renewals. Access and refunds are subject to your subscription status, the terms and applicable consumer rights.
