Style & Tools

Choose animated caption templates, customize their appearance and render a Premiere preview.

Choose a style and open its options. Controls are grouped under Text, Appearance, Animation and Captions. Disabling an optional feature collapses its controls.

Available styles

Style Behavior
None Plain caption treatment
Fade Reveals words or letters with a fade
Box highlight A box follows the active word
Word highlight Highlights the active word over a caption background
Appear, Highlight, Scale Reveals and highlights a line together, with adjustable line scale
Typing cursor Reveals text with a typing cursor

The separate placeholder choice is intended for lightweight editing.

Text and appearance

Adjust font, size, bold, italic, UPPER formatting, colors, spacing and position. Position starts from the placeholder offsets.

Upcoming words are in Appearance. Their opacity controls text that has not yet become active. For the line highlight style, the active line is revealed and highlighted together.

Appear, Highlight, Scale can change highlight color for each active line. Its default palette uses red, orange, yellow, green, cyan and magenta.

Animation and effects

Available controls depend on the style. Transitions have frame-duration controls. Stretch combines directional blur with an adjustable width transform; width ranges from 80% to 140%, with 110% as its default. Transform is applied after the other effects.

Optional effects may depend on separately installed plug-ins. S_Shake defaults to amplitude 0.1 and frequency 0.5 for styled captions. It is excluded from placeholders.

Preview and apply

The HTML preview shows text layout, colors and positioning. It does not simulate the full transition and effects stack.

Use Render preview to place a sample in the dedicated TCaption preview sequence and check the real result in Premiere. Rendering another sample replaces the previous sample there.

Save saves the style settings. Apply to track applies them to the caption track.

The sequence pre-render preference can be changed while styling is in progress. It is off by default. See Settings.
