Import and export

Save a transcript, move it between projects and clear the panel's saved data.

Export

Export saves the transcript as JSON, including segments, words and timings. Keep a copy before large wording or grouping changes, or when moving work between projects and computers.

Import

Import reads a compatible JSON transcript into the panel. Files with word timings can retain that timing information. If word timings are missing, the panel estimates them and tells you; review the result against the audio.

Import does not recover the original source audio. Make sure the active sequence matches the transcript.

Times are in seconds relative to the sequence timeline. A typical segment contains start, end, text, and a words array with a word string and start/end values for each word.

Imported fields are validated, but only open transcript files from sources you trust. Review the wording, timing and grouping before placing captions.

Clear

Clear removes the saved transcription for the current project and sequence and its associated rendered audio where available. Export first if you want a copy.

It does not remove clips already inserted on the Premiere timeline.
